Soylulaþtýrmaya Karþý Yerel Limitler: Dinamik Teori

Soylulaþtýrma araþtýrmalarý yýllara dayanan geçmiþiyle kentsel bilgi üretiminde önemli bir role sahiptir. Bu bilgi üretiminin sonuçlarýndan biri de yýkýcý soylulaþtýrma süreçlerini ve bunun etkilerini gösteren büyük bir literatür oluþmasýdýr. Ancak soylulaþtýrma araþtýrmalarýnýn mevcut birikimi, bu olgunun kapsamlý olarak anlaþýlmasý ya da olumsuz sonuçlarýnýn hafifletilmesi için yeterli deðildir. Bu durum, baðlamsallýk ve soylulaþtýrma olgusuna karþýt alternatifler üretmek konusunda yetersiz kalan soylulaþtýrma araþtýrmalarýnýn çerçevesini yeniden düþünmeyi gerektirmektedir. Bu makalede, limitli soylulaþtýrma süreçlerini odaðýmýza alarak, bu boþluðu irdelemekteyiz. Limitli soylulaþtýrmanýn dünyadaki araþtýrmalarýný ve kavramsallaþtýrýlmasýný araþtýrarak ve eleþtirel bir bakýþ açýsýyla inceleyerek, limitli soylulaþtýrma araþtýrmasýnýn eksikliklerini ve eðilimlerini bulmak amaçlanmýþtýr. Bu araþtýrma, kaçýnýlmaz olarak nitelenen soylulaþtýrmaya alternatifler üretme konusunda farkýndalýðý arttýrmayý amaçlarken ayný zamanda da çok ihtiyaç duyulan teorik ve kavramsal katkýya yer açmayý hedeflemektedir.

Local Limits to Gentrification: Theory on the Move

Gentrification research has long had a pivotal role in urban knowledge production. One of the consequences has been the emergence of a sizable quantity of literature pointing out the destructive processes and effects of gentrification. Yet the current terrain of gentrification research is not adequate for comprehensive understanding or to mitigate the negative outcomes of this phenomenon. This necessitates reflection upon a framework of gentrification research that is deficient in terms of context and alternative forms of the phenomenon. This article addresses this gap by exploring and critically reviewing studies and the application of the conceptualization of limited gentrification around the world. The aim was to determine shortcomings and tendencies in limited gentrification research with the goal of raising awareness about producing alternatives to pervasive gentrification and to make room for much-needed theoretical and conceptual contributions.
